The half yearly Hay Food Festival, held in the town centre Market Square on Saturday 25th June, attracting a crowd of enthusiastic locals and visitors to sample and buy some of the exciting, varied and delicious products on display at this popular event.
Crowds were so great that unfortunately there was nowhere for many of the visitors to park. The town centre car park was full to overflowing and the more sedentary of Hay's residents enjoyed their usual spectator sport of watching visitors frustratedly driving up and down the car park trying to spot an available space. A futile pursuit if ever there was one last Saturday.
Practical suggestions for an answer to the problem are eagerly sought.
Dissuade visitors from visiting Hay?
Don't hold any such events in the town?
Open new car parking spaces?
Dissuade residents forced to park in the town centre car from taking up valuable spaces?
Any other ideas?
